Grazen Sun is ZTR's multiple allowance winning Cal-bred 5 year-old gelding who pressed the lead on the dirt at Fresno under apprentice rider Manuel Americano. Grazen Sun prevailed with a strong finish by both rider and horse notching 2 wins in a row. After 27 starts Grazen Sun's record is 5-1-3 with earnings of $120,454. The son of Grazen is also out of Sunpenny making him a half-brother to Royal Halo and this victory makes it five wins at five different racetracks for the chestnut gelding. Video: Grazen Sun's Win at Fresno Video: Grazen Sun's Santa Rosa Win ZTR's 4 year-old Cal-bred gelding Royal Halo wins at Turf Paradise under jockey Assael Espinoza for trainer Frank Lucarelli in his third start of 2024 to garner his third win. Royal Halo broke his maiden at Santa Anita last year in a gate-to-wire tally in a Cal-bred maiden special weight and anexxed an allowance race at Emerald Downs last summer. Royal Halo raised his earnings to $107,250 with a record of 13-3-1-1 with wins at three different race tracks. Royal Halo's sire, Curlin to Mischief is a half-brother to multi-champion racemare Beholder, super sire Into Mischief, and emerging sire Mendelssohn. His first dam, Sunpenny, was a stakes-placed mutiple winner by Good Reward who is a full-brother to Pure Prize. |
